Hello Friends ( and Yankee Fans) ( Just Kidding - sort of)
Besides music one of my favorite things in the world is sports. I love all sports (even hockey) and follow them all. I love the big 3 (baseball;football and basketball) equally and only favor one over another if it’s that particular sports time of the year. To be precise I probably like basketball the least and that’s only because I do not have a favorite team that I root for. I say this because it ties in with the emergence of this page and how I think we can have some fun with this.
The point here is to add a little sports talk to the blog. I think there is a myraid of similarities between music-particularly jazz and sports and I’m inviting all interested parties to post up and throw (bad pun-sorry!) your 2 cents in about whatever is posted by yours truly and roll with it.
The first thing I want to ask is this - Maybe this is easy and to a sports fan it seems to me pretty obvious BUT what does the title of this page/thread refer to and why is it relevant today (June 2 2008). Let’s see whose been reading the papers.
Now I’ll preface all this by stating that I am a RED SOX fan and I know I have just made as many instant friends as instant enemies. So the title of this page will be of relevance to only a small minority out there but realize that the Yankee/Red Sox conflict is almost biblical in nature and never to be resolved. The Middle East is a skirmish in comparison.
I could talk sports all day as much as talk jazz so I’ll cut it off here and throw it open with a question or actually a scorecard (and this should bring some heat(sorry another bad one).
World Series Victory total for this century - Red Sox 2,Yankees 0(as in zero).
